DES MOINES, Iowa — It has proved to be a windy and chilly Sunday across the state with gusts in excess of 30 mph at times and in spots.
On Saturday the northern portion of the state saw the first flurries of the year, however most if it didn’t stick due to warm grounds temps. Just the most northwest corner of the state was able to measure out in an inch or two, some even managed a snowman with the first of this years snow.
It will be chilly Sunday night, but winds will diminish during the overnight hours. Expect a few flurries.
Temperatures look to warm this week, and our next chance of precipitation doesn’t come until Saturday night. We may see some thunderstorms in the Midwest on Saturday next weekend. It looks as if we’ll see a good chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday in Iowa.
