Brenna Bird, Attorney General for the State of Iowa, announced her office’s efforts in pursuing consumer-protection actions concerning big tech issues. She also highlighted collaborative work with fellow Attorneys General to combat crypto ATM scams and protect families. This statement was made at the 2025 National Lawyers Convention.
“Another area that you will see our offices working on is what I would call issues within big tech,” said Bird, Attorney General of Iowa, according to YouTube. “Our office is suing CoinFlip and Bitcoin Depot. These crypto ATMs have been involved in facilitating people being ripped off by con artists. Consumers have been conned out of significant amounts of money through these schemes.”
According to a panel organized by the Federalist Society, Bird discussed consumer protection measures and mentioned actions involving Bitcoin Depot and CoinFlip. The panel included Hon.
