Environmental activists unite to fight for improved water quality in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa — Food & Water Watch, Progress Iowa, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement and the Harkin Institute came together to host a Water Quality Solutions Townhall Saturday afternoon.

John Norris, a volunteer with the Harkin Institute, said the town hall was about raising awareness and organizing the community to fight for improved water quality.

“A lot of people are engaged, worried about the threat to water quality in Iowa and they want to do something about it. So today is a next step to begin organizing people to create a grassroots movement across the state to hold policymakers accountable for our water quality,” Norris said.
