Single-vehicle crash seriously injures one in Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash with serious injuries reported Monday morning.

It happened a little before 7:25 in the 13800 block of NE 96th Street, west of Farrar and south of Maxwell. Lt. Mark Chance, Public Information Officer for the PCSO, said it was a single-vehicle crash, and the only occupant of the vehicle, a woman, was ejected.

Lt. Chance said it appears the vehicle was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and ended up in the west ditch, against a tree.
