DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines man who admitted to placing a pipe bomb-style improvised explosive device (IED) on Waveland Golf Course this summer was sentenced to two years’ probation on Thursday.
On July 10, golfers found an IED near the course’s eighth hole. The Des Moines Police Department Bomb Squad responded and detonated the IED on the scene, and no one was injured.
