Des Moines police seek suspect in felony gun and drug case

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect on felony gun and drug charges.

Dameian Buckner, 36, is being sought on active warrants for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and failure to affix a tax stamp, according to DMPD.

Police said they found evidence that Buckner possessed two handguns and a delivery quantity of marijuana when officers were called to his home on a report of gunfire. Buckner received an injury to his upper arm in the incident, which police said happened because a gun was being stored in an oven, and it fired multiple rounds as the oven heated.

Buckner is described as 6’3″ and 180 pounds.
