POLK COUNTY, Iowa — Polk County is activating its Extreme Temperature Plan at 6 a.m. Sunday morning, according to a release from the Des Moines Police Department.
The plan activates warming centers and weather amnesty at area homeless shelters, as well as free transportation to these locations on DART buses.
