Des Moines, IA – A winter storm system is expected to bring accumulating snow to much of Iowa beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing through early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Des Moines.
Forecasters say the heaviest snow will fall across northern and northwestern Iowa, where 3 to 6 inches of accumulation is likely, particularly near Estherville, Mason City, and Spencer. Central Iowa, including the Des Moines metro, may see 1 to 3 inches, with lighter amounts farther south…
