DES MOINES, Iowa — Work has begun on what the Animal Rescue League of Iowa is calling the state’s first Rescue Intake and Rehabilitation Center.
The ARL of Iowa says the construction phase of the project is expected to cost $1 million. The center is taking shape in the ARL of Iowa’s former barn, the barn program having been moved to a new location.
Upcoming projects include building a medical intake area to provide immediate low-stress medical care, installing kennels to provide longer term housing to animals and putting in an HVAC system to prevent airborne diseases and regulate temperature…
