A winter storm warning was expanded by the National Weather Service in Des Moines at 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. This warning, which previously applied to parts of northwest and north central Iowa, now included the U.S. Highway 30 corridor. That includes Boone, Story and Marshall counties.
The warning comes as snow falls across the region and at least 2-5 inches is expected across much of Iowa.
The NWS warns: “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest travel conditions, check the Iowa 511 app, www.511ia.org, or dial 511.”
