DES MOINES, Iowa — The City of Des Moines said its public works crews are going to take advantage of the warm weather Tuesday to plow remaining snow and slush off residential streets.

Public Works Director Jonathan Gano says the warm weather will provide the perfect opportunity to get the remaining snow and slush from the past couple winter storms off residential streets, which total 1,400 lane miles. The expected high for Tuesday is 42°.
“While we’re typically able to get our main roads cleared down to the pavement, neighborhood streets usually get packed down by traffic before we switch over from plowing Snow Routes,” Gano said.
The city said a Snow Ordinance won’t be put in place for the plowing operations but asks that residents move their vehicles off the streets so plows can clear as much snow and slush as possible…
