DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines police officer and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday.
At around 5:30 p.m. the Des Moines Police Department said a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound in the 2900 block of Merle Hay Road when it spun out while attempting to pass another vehicle. The DMPD said the Corolla then entered the northbound lanes and crashed into a patrol vehicle and a Toyota Tundra.
According to the DMPD, a 38-year-old sergeant in the patrol SUV as well as a juvenile passenger in the Tundra were treated for minor injuries at the scene. The driver of the Corolla, a 34-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
