Iowa Woman Accused of Breaking Into Home With Hammer, Biting Victim in Late-Night Chaos

A Des Moines woman is facing a Class B felony after authorities say she forced her way into an Ainsworth home late Saturday night while armed with a hammer and crowbar. Deputies say the incident happened around 9:06 p.m. in the 600 block of Lincoln Street.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were dispatched after receiving a call about an intoxicated female attempting to break into a residence. When officers arrived, they arrested 38-year-old Kristin Whaley of Des Moines.

According to court records, Whaley allegedly broke into the residence and intentionally or recklessly inflicted bodily injury on a person inside. The victim reportedly suffered a bite mark on their arm and marks on their face during the altercation.
