DMPD investigating Facebook Marketplace armed robbery

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating after they say a Facebook Marketplace meet up turned into an armed robbery.

DMPD officers were called to investigate an armed robbery in the 2800 block of E. Euclid Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the victim and the suspect were meeting at the location for a pre-arranged Facebook Marketplace sale. The victim told authorities that the suspect fired a handgun during the robbery.

The DMPD says no injuries have been reported and there is no indication of ongoing danger to neighborhood…
