JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has become the first sheriff’s office in the state of Iowa to achieve accreditation through the Iowa Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP).
The accreditation took effect Dec. 17, 2025, and will remain in place for four years, according to the sheriff’s office.
The ILEAP program was developed by the Iowa Police Chiefs Association and the Iowa Sheriffs and Deputies Association and became available for applications in late 2024.
