DES MOINES, Iowa — Authorities have released the name of the man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Drake Neighborhood.
On Tuesday evening the Des Moines police and fire departments responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 31st Street and University Avenue. The DMPD said first responders transported the victim to a hospital, but he later died.

The DMPD identified the victim as 40-year-old Robert David Given from Des Moines.
According to the DMPD, the vehicle involved in the crash fled from the scene before first responders arrived. Evidence collected indicates that the vehicle, a Ford F-150, was traveling eastbound on University Avenue when it struck Given, who police say was standing in the roadway…
