Iowa’s trumpeter swan population continues to climb, DNR calls growth ‘success story’

IOWA, USA — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is calling the increased population of the state’s trumpeter swans a ” true modern-day conservation success story.”

Iowa trumpeter swans attempted a modern-day record 158 nests in 2025, which the DNR said was a 17% increase since 2022.
