Des Moines man charged with attempted murder after alleged shooting

JOHNSTON, Iowa — The Johnston Police Department says a Des Moines man has been arrested for attempted murder following a Saturday shooting.

The Johnston PD says officers were called to reports of shots fired along the 5600 block of NW 52nd Street around 9:50 a.m. on Saturday. Authorities says evidence at the scene indicated a shooting and Johnston detectives worked quickly to identify a suspect.

Ankeny PD searches for possible victims in alleged cryptocurrency scam

Johnston PD, along with the DMPD Metro STAR Tactical Unit, deployed to the 1100 block of 9th Street for a search warrant Saturday afternoon where authorities say the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Johnston Police says 33-year-old Jeffrey Scott Johnson, of Des Moines, was arrested and charged with,

  • Attempted Murder – Class B Felony
  • Intimidation With a Weapon – Class C Felony
  • Going Armed With Intent – Class D Felony

Johnson is currently being held at the Polk County Jail and is not eligible for bail…
