Fog possible factor in Story County crash that injured two

STORY COUNTY, Iowa — The Story County Sheriff’s Office says heavy fog is a possible factor in a crash that injured two people.

The Story County SO says deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 500th Avenue and 130th Street, north of Ames, Tuesday evening. Authorities say two people were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

According to the sheriff’s office heavy fog in the area significantly reduced visibility. “Drivers are reminded to slow down in these conditions and increase their following distance, especially when traveling in unfamiliar areas,” a portion of their Facebook post read.
