Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) in Des Moines is excited to announce its partnership with KDSM17 in 2026.
SVdP is a nonprofit charitable organization providing a unique style of personal assistance with food, clothing, educational programs, and job training, in addition to other services for people facing economic, emotional, or spiritual crises. SVdP considers itself to be “A First Step at a Second Chance” and strives to uphold this mission.
Currently, SVdP is preparing for its Freeze Out Hunger campaign taking place this February and March. As many are aware, food insecurity is on the rise, and SVdP is looking to increase its support for those struggling. Data reports that 57,000 individuals and 20,000 children in Polk County are facing food insecurity. These results are 40% higher than last year’s figures (WeAreIowa.org).
