Iowa man sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking

MASON CITY, Iowa — A Mason City man was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday for methamphetamine distribution.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office Northern District of Iowa says 44-year-old Charles Robinson, originally from Chicago, Illinois, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance on September 2, 2025.

The Attorney’s Office says between at least May 2023 and September 2024, Robinson was involved in an ongoing methamphetamine distribution conspiracy based out of Mason City.

Authorities say Robinson was documented actively engaging in drug trafficking by local law enforcement. The office also says Robinson has an extensive criminal history which includes numerous assaults and domestic abuse-related convictions…
