(Des Moines, IA) — An ongoing surge in flu cases is putting pressure on Central Iowa hospitals and clinics.
The Des Moines Healthcare Coalition says hospitals in central Iowa are working together to manage the high patient volumes to guarantee that emergency services remain available for everyone with severe symptoms. Iowans are urged to contact their primary care provider, use telehealth services, or go to an urgent care clinic if they have mild symptoms, including:
- Mild fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Fatigue
- Congestion
- Body aches
