A Norwalk man was just one number off from the Mega Millions jackpot of $900 million, but still won enough money to pay off his mortgage and buy a new truck.
Jaime Zavala won $3 million in the Veterans Day Mega Millions drawing on Nov. 11 last year. He bought the ticket at the Norwalk Kwik Star located at 1200 Chatham Ave., according to a news release from the Iowa Lottery.
Zavala, a Navy veteran according to the release, claimed his multi-million-dollar prize on Tuesday, Jan. 13, saying he would pay off his home and replace his 10-year-old pickup truck with more than 250,000 miles on it…
