The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued Winter Weather Advisories for much of central and northern Iowa, including Franklin, Butler, Hardin, Wright, Grundy and Cerro Gordo counties.
The advisory goes into effect at midnight tonight for Franklin, Wright and Cerro Gordo counties, and 6 a.m. Friday for Butler, Hardin and Grundy counties, lasting through 9 p.m. Friday.
Snow showers and snow squalls are expected, with total accumulations up to one inch. Gusty winds, ranging from 40 to 45 miles per hour, could reduce visibility and cause localized whiteout or near-blizzard conditions…
