DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines man will spend up to a century behind bars for the 2024 killing of 65-year-old Bruce Murray, who was found tied up in his apartment.
Charles Edward Adams, 26, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Murray, along with attempted murder of a peace officer, first-degree robbery and probation violations, the Polk County Attorney’s Office said.
At Adams’ sentencing Tuesday, the district judge chose to run his charges consecutively for a total of 100 years. Adams is required to serve at least 77.5 years before he is eligible for parole…
