Sunny skies and sub-zero temperatures greeted about two dozen protesters in downtown Perry Saturday at their 51st consecutive weekly rally.
News that federal agents in Minneapolis shot and killed another U.S. citizen Saturday, little more than two weeks after Renee Good of Minneapolis was shot to death by an agent of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, seemed further to steel the resolve of the Perry protesters.
“Now Trump’s putting active-duty soldiers on standby for deployment in Minnesota,” said one protester. “He’s making blue states the enemy. They’ll end up sending out El Salvador-style or Guatemala-style paramilitary death squads at this rate, with Trump’s Proud Boys and January 6th thugs playing the part of Hitler’s Brownshirts.”…
