DES MOINES, Iowa– A Des Moines woman has turned grief into remembrance through starting a candle business.
Christina Conner, of Des Moines, suffered the loss of her brother three years ago, which made her want to start her business, MemoryWicks Candle Co.
Conner said that even when someone you care about passes on, the memories made with that person live on forever, and a great way to tap into those memories is by scent.

Most recently, her son was hit by a car last March and survived, but suffered major injuries and brain damage. She based many of the scents on memories she has with him, along with his favorite things. She said that through these scents, he has been able to reconnect with some of his memories…
