DES MOINES, Iowa — The Food Bank of Iowa is getting help from an Iowa-based grocery chain to help feed hungry people across the state.
On Tuesday, Fareway Stores will deliver about 69,000 pounds of ham to the food bank in Des Moines. The total donation is 5,504 hams. Sixty percent of the hams will go to food pantries in the 55 counties served by the Food Bank of Iowa.

The rest of the donated hams will be divided equally between the Food Bank of Siouxland in Sioux City and the River Bend Food Bank in Davenport.
