A business advocate told a Dubuque crowd Friday that a survey found nearly one in six Iowans has considered leaving the state — but Iowa has an edge in areas that could be used to encourage people to stay.
Dustin Miller, executive director of Iowa Chamber Alliance, discussed the results of the 1,200-participant opinion survey, taken via professional polling firm Cygnal, during a presentation for Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce members at Hotel Julien Dubuque. He also shared how the average Iowan perceives the state economically and as a living destination.
Miller said Iowa has had a legacy of “people leaving and people not coming for 126 years.”…
