DES MOINES, Iowa — Power has been restored to about 5,000 customers in downtown Des Moines after a man allegedly damaged a power substation on 16th Street, according to a release from the Des Moines Police Department.
MidAmerican Energy crews reported a trespasser inside the substation fencing just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. First responders found an adult man with burn injuries covering about 20% of his body. He was transported to UnityPoint hospital for care.
