GUTHRIE COUNTY, Iowa — An Urbandale man was arrested following a high-speed chase that law enforcement said reached 113 miles per hour in Guthrie County over the weekend.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office said Lee Pickrel, 42, has been charged with eluding, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and multiple traffic citations in the incident. An OWI charge is pending while investigators wait for the results of lab testing.

The GCSO said around 12:12 a.m. on Sunday, one of its deputies was traveling west on Highway 44 between Guthrie Center and Panora when they noticed a red Ford Bronco speeding. The deputy activated lights and sirens, but the truck fled.
The pursuit continued on Highway 44 into Audubon, where spike strips were used by an Audubon County Sheriff’s deputy to help end the chase near Hamlin.
