WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — A male was transported to a hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg in West Des Moines on Monday afternoon.

The West Des Moines Police Department said it received a report claiming someone was shot in the leg at around 2:16 p.m. in the 100 block of 12th Street. First responders arrived at the scene and found the injured person, identified only as a male, and transported him to a hospital for treatment. Police said the injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
According to the WDMPD, there’s no indication of any ongoing danger to the neighborhood. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing…
