URBANDALE, Iowa — Two lanes of a portion of westbound Interstate 80 in Urbandale are closed after a fire truck rolled over in the ditch, Sgt. Joseph Fischer with the Urbandale Police Department told Local 5.
Fischer said the crash was likely weather-related. The firetruck — which is not associated with the city of Urbandale and was not responding to a call — seems to have swerved in response to a truck and trailer that had lost control in the interstate’s outside lane. It struck a light pole before rolling into a ditch.
Fischer said a person in the fire truck was stuck for a period of time before officers arrived on scene. The two outside lanes from exit 128 to exit 127 will be shut down for some time while the truck is towed, he added…
