The Iowa Attorney General’s Office in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, has released its list of the top ten consumer complaints and scams reported by Iowans in 2025.
According to the office, its Consumer Protection Division handled more than 4,000 complaints last year, marking the second consecutive year of rising scam reports and consumer complaints statewide.
“Iowans should always contact our office if they think they’ve been involved in a scam or been taken advantage of by deceptive business practices,” said Brenna Bird . “We’ve seen an increase in scammers and fraudsters preying on people they know are vulnerable, pretending to be someone they aren’t. Our office takes these offenses seriously and acts quickly. We will work with you to ensure justice is served.”
