Des Moines, IA – Central Iowa is preparing for another round of accumulating snow as a system moves northwest to southeast across the state Wednesday afternoon and evening, potentially disrupting travel on several major roadways.

According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, snow is expected to begin near 3 p.m. Wednesday and continue through the evening before tapering off overnight. Much of central Iowa, including Des Moines, Ames, Fort Dodge, and Marshalltown, is likely to see around 1 inch of snowfall.
