DES MOINES, Iowa — A youth sports dream has seemingly unraveled for dozens of Central Iowa families after a Grimes-based sports facility abruptly shut its doors, allegedly leaving athletes without a place to play and parents questioning what happened to thousands of dollars in fees.
Ignit Sports and Fitness, which houses a membership gym and multiple club sports programs across 62,500 square feet, according to its website, seemingly ceased operations on Feb. 10.
“It’s just, like, a big letdown for everything,” said Isabelle, a player with the Ignit Volleyball Club.
