DES MOINES, Iowa — A body was found in the Des Moines River Friday afternoon.
Sgt. Paul Parizek with the Des Moines Police Department said that at around 1 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a boater stating they believed they’d found a body in the Des Moines River.

Officers at the scene located the body just east of the Harriet Street Boat Ramp. The Des Moines Fire Department WET Rescue team responded to recover the body. Sgt. Parizek said the body is believed to be that of an adult male.
At this time, Sgt. Parizek said that criminal activity doesn’t appear to have contributed to the man’s death. An investigation into the man’s identity and how he died is underway…
