Senior Katie Biscoglia, who is apart of the Raccoon River Northwest (RRNW) Wrestling Team, explains how the bonds between the four schools involved has grown closer.
RRNW is a collaboration between four high schools, including Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Van Meter, Waukee, and Waukee Northwest. Biscoglia attends Van Meter, and shares that when she first joined the team, there were several cliques of girls from the same schools. However, over time, she reveals that the girls have become some of her best friends.
“I truly think of us as just one team of girls who are all working for the same goal. And those girls are my best friends, they still are. Even though the wrestling season has ended, we still do things together, I still talk to them, (and) they are probably going to be some of my best friends for the rest of my life. And that’s something that I’m really lucky that I got to have, and Raccoon River definitely made that bond possible for us.”…
