Crews work behind the scenes to ‘flip’ Casey’s Center for events

DES MOINES, Iowa– The Casey’s Center hosts a variety of events each needing different surfaces, from Monster Jam and the Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo, to the Iowa Wolves and the Iowa Wild. It takes a whole crew working behind the scenes to prepare the venue for what’s next.

This weekend, the Casey’s Center was host to the Iowa Wolves on Friday night. At 10 p.m., transition crews came in and had to flip the arena for AAU Kids State Wrestling for Saturday and Sunday. Crews removed the court, pushed back seating, and prepared 10 wrestling mats in just eight hours overnight.

Once AAU wrestling is done Sunday evening, the crew will be back to prepare the arena set for the Iowa Girls High School State Basketball Tournament that starts Monday morning…
