DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says a suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation was arrested Friday following a brief standoff.
Des Moines Police say a Crimes Against Property Section detective spotted 33-year-old Brandon Orlando, who was wanted in connection with an auto theft investigation, around 1 p.m. on Friday. Authorities say Orlando had been charged with stealing a Jeep Grand Cherokee during a Facebook Marketplace transaction earlier in the week.
The detective, in a marked patrol car, guided the vehicle to intercept Orlando, who was driving in the city’s east side. Authorities say that when the patrol officer signaled Orlando to stop, he accelerated away, and a short pursuit began…
