POLK COUNTY, Iowa — One person was killed, and another was critically injured in a crash on Interstate 80 on Wednesday.
Windsor Heights man sentenced to prison for killing man during argument
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a single-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 133.8 and the NW Morningstar Drive bridge during the evening hours. When first responders arrived at the crash, they found two people had been ejected from the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office said that one occupant, identified as a woman, died from her injuries at the scene, while the second occupant, identified as a man, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The names of the victims have not been released.
