DES MOINES, Iowa — DART announced its CEO, Amanda Wanke, will be leaving in the spring and that the commission would begin the transition process for new leadership.
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) says Wanke accepted a position with Metro Transit in the Twin Cities after working at DART for the past 10 years and serving as CEO for the past two and a half years.
“Leading DART and serving this community has been one of the most meaningfulchapters of my career,” said Amanda Wanke, DART CEO. “I’m proud of what we’veaccomplished together in recent years—from the essential services we provide everyday to the adoption of the system redesign that will shape the future of transit in ourregion. While it’s difficult to step away, the opportunity to return closer to family inMinnesota while continuing to grow as a transit leader felt like the right next step for meand my family. I’m deeply grateful to the Commission, our member communities, ourriders, and the many people who believe in the value of public transit–and because ofthat, I believe DART is in a strong position for the future.”…
