A Prairie City woman who entered a guilty plea to a reduced charge in a felony theft case involving an iPhone has been sentenced. On Tuesday, Associate District Court Judge Steven Holwerda issued a deferred judgment against 44-year-old Vanessa Kay Waldrop. She has to serve one year of probation and pay a $430 civil penalty. In addition, a restitution hearing in her case has been set for April 21st.
Prairie City Police claimed Waldrop was involved with selling a stolen cellphone at a kiosk at the Newton Walmart on August 19th of last year.
