Mitchellville city councilman resigns amid community unrest

MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa — Another member of Mitchellville’s city council has resigned, citing a lack of time to dedicate to the position.

Konnor Trevallion posted his resignation to Facebook Tuesday after only serving as a councilmember for a handful of months. His announcement follows months of turmoil in the small Iowa town, which has seen the resignation of its entire police department, public works director and other city council members, as well as the dismissal of its fire chief.

“The issues that our city faces do not intimidate me beyond a reasonable amount of someone in my position. With enough even-tempered analysis, I truly believe I could tackle these issues and provide good input and progress,” Trevallion’s statement says in part.
