Starting Monday, March 30, crews will begin work on the West First Street Widening and Improvements – Phase 2 project in Ankeny. During Stage 1A, the eastbound lanes from Cedarwood Drive to NW College Drive will be closed, and traffic will run head-to-head in the westbound lanes. SW Cedarwood Drive and SW Linden Street will also be closed at West First Street, though access to all homes and businesses will stay open.
Over the next two years, the project will rebuild and widen West First Street between NW Greenwood Street and NW/SW State Street, adding a center turn lane, new pavement, upgraded water and storm sewer lines, a new traffic signal at Linden Street, and about 13 new streetlights…
