DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines father has been arrested on a child endangerment charge after police said he lied about how his infant son suffered a broken femur.
Steven McIntosh, 21, is charged with child endangerment-serious injury and was booked into the Polk County Jail Monday night. A $25,000 cash only bond has been set in the case.

According to court documents in the case, McIntosh was caring for his five-week-old son in the early morning hours of March 5th when the injury to the baby happened. The criminal complaint stated McIntosh lied several times about the circumstances surrounding the injury to his son.
A doctor classified the injury as “non-accidental trauma” and stated McIntosh’s account of what happened didn’t match the mechanism of injury.
