Norwalk residents to vote on $65M general obligation bond in November

NORWALK, Iowa — On Nov. 3 of this year, residents of Norwalk will have the final say on a $65 million general obligation bond for the improvement of the city’s school district that includes plans for the construction of a new elementary school. The plan seeks to address projected growth in the decade ahead.

According to the Norwalk Community School District, its total K-12 enrollment has increased by 38%, or 951 students, since the 2010-11 school year.

Currently at a student population of 3,442, the number is expected to reach 4,000 by 2035-36…
