Humidity surge incoming: Heavy rain, thunderstorms likely across MN, IA, WI next week

As spring temperatures begin to rise this week, so too will the humidity. It’ll happen as moisture is expected to surge north for the weekend, setting the stage for heavy rain and thunderstorms somewhere in the Upper Midwest.

It’s still a week out, but the National Weather Service says the models are in “remarkable agreement for a forecast 7-10 days away.” If the models are accurate, it could mean a multi-day soaking is in the works Sunday-Wednesday next week.

Will it be Minnesota? Iowa? Wisconsin? All of them?

“Precipitation looks to persist into the start of the week and perhaps last as long as the entirety of Monday through early Wednesday,” the National Weather Service says, noting the “remarkable consistency” in the models showing a surface low stalling over the region…
