Warren County Man Arrested After Missing Court on Jail Contraband Charge

A Warren County man is facing additional legal proceedings after failing to appear in court on a felony charge.

According to court records, 30-year-old Tyler Wayne Mott was originally charged in January with possession of contraband in a correctional institution. Authorities allege Mott knowingly brought marijuana into the Warren County Jail after being arrested in late December. Court documents state jail staff later discovered the substance hidden in a coat, and that Mott had also attempted to smoke marijuana while at a hospital during a medical visit.

Mott was scheduled to appear for a pretrial conference on March 27th, but did not appear as ordered. Court officials called his name multiple times before issuing a warrant for his arrest. Records show Mott has since been taken into custody. During an initial appearance on April 1st, the court set a five-thousand-dollar cash-only bond.
