New MRI technology at UnityPoint Health eases patient anxiety

DES MOINES, Iowa– The UnityPoint Health Iowa Methodist Center has added new technology to ease the nerves for patients getting an MRI.

Two sets of MRI-safe video goggles and headphones have been purchased for kids and adults to use while getting an MRI at Methodist downtown.

Anyone who has been in an MRI machine knows that it can be a little nerve-racking with the tight space and the loud noises. However, with this new addition, patients no longer have to feel like they’re in a confined environment, and the noise is greatly reduced with the headphones…
